Motivation

This project stems from a long-standing trading system for FITX (TAIEX Futures) which has been steadily developed for over ten years has an excellent track record. Yet, the system, while handy as a trading signal source, requires expert intervention and interpretation in order to be effectively utilized.

We envision that we can automate expert trader logic, and further augment the system with AI to surpass human traders in returns. The end goal of the project is to commercialize the system — either by selling the product off or start a company to trade with the strategies.

You Will

• Work with an MIT computer scientist and a data scientist from a top-notch financial institution in Taiwan
• Help build a system to backtest trading strategies form FITX
• Implement automated trading strategies following guidelines from an experienced trader in the business for 20+ years (who is also the inventor of the trading system himself)
• Integrate the automated system with the signaling system to trade on live markets
• Design AI models to trade using the signals provided and backtest extensively

You Have

We courage this to be a side hustle. Everyone in the team has their own day jobs but is super excited to come together to work as a team!

• Knowledge in
  • Trading derivatives (options, futures, and etc.)
  • Programming for finance (backtesting, quantification, ...)
  • AI (Genetic programming, scikit-learn, machine learning methodologies)
• Consistent Participation I'd like to imagine the team to be a ship where we can constantly sail forward, but only when each of us can work well in tandem. You don't have to spend a monstrous amount of time every week, but we certainly appreciate the effort to be consistent.
• Communication Skills No single individuals know everything. As long as the communication channels are open, you will be able to learn from each member in the team.
• Clear Expression of Expectations Make sure to let the team know how much time/effort you can put into the project. It is totally fine to have weeks off or tough periods of life. Express that well and we'll be good.
